These basic works are comprehensive and readable synthesises on history of Hungary. The high-standard and concise books were very popular among the British and American students and academic circles. Arminius Vámbéry, professor at the University of Buda-Pest was a special „brand” at that time in Britain. To our best knowledge, these works were not thorougly studied yet moreover these books are virtually unknown even for historians conducting studies in this special field. We are proud to publish „Hungary in Ancient, Medieval and Modern Times” again and we are convinced that Vambery’s thought will be as valuable in the 21st century as it was before.
